Nights Out in Bangkok
So we went out on the town with Derek which was good fun and bad for our livers!
We cought a river taxi accross to Dereks house and went from there out to dinner at a really cool thai restraunt called 'Pla Dip' (raw fish)which serves 'infusion' foods which is all sorts of mad combinations. I had some Tuna Sushi steak which was lovly. I also tried some flame grilled cow tounge which , suprisingly was really nice, full of steaky flavour.
After that we hit a popular Thai bar which was rolling with drunk folks all singing Thai songs along to acoustic guitars. We met the local ex pat crowed and also the dummer from The Streets who was having a few drinks there, seemed like a nice chap.
After a load of Sang Song Rum we headed to another night club but this was closed. we hung about a bit and then headed to Derriks house for a night cap.
We passed out and woke about 5 in the morning and tried to head out to find a taxi. Derriks house is located in a maze of little streets so we immediatly got lost and potentialy got ourselves in a silly situation, wandering around the middle of no where drunk on our own.
After having a run in with a helpfull stranger we decided to head back to Derriks which we found. We waited till dawn and then strolled out but found a taxi straight away.
We went back to be to kill the hangovers.
That night we teamed up to do it all agian.
First we went to a blues bar which had a funky little thai blues band playing. The place was packed to the rafters and was serving real good long island ice tea's which seemed to have quite an effect. We met a bunch of people in there and headed down to the brick bar which had a Thai Ska band rocking the place, no westerners really which was good. It was a good laugh in there.
After a while we all headed home due to knackardness : )
Last night we met with Derrick,Anna, Christene agian and went for dinner,North Eastern Thai food which was a street restraunt and amazingly spicy. crazy food, not for vegatarians.
After thiswe went back to the gaff, drank Vodka and sang songs, everyone signed my guitar also as a memento.
That was the last night in Thailand. Tomorrow we go to India
