On the Night Train (Bottoms Up)

The group of us cought the night train to Lao Cai on the Vietnam/ Chinese border. Its a 12 hour trip on the train and left 10 that night. We had some dinner and grabbed a few taxis to the particular station out of the old quarter in Hanoi. We were a group of 8 now and managed to get a full 6 birth cabin to ourselves. The hard sleeper is an old train with flip down wooden bunks with some reed covers on them. Looked pretty hard but are not that bad. It was well cosy once we were all in and when the train left we kicked ourselves for only having 2 bottles of wine between us. Pretty soon though a buffet cart came round and was selling beer for a decent price.
The guitar came out and we ended up staying up untill 4.30 in the morning singing and beering it. The Other passengers did not give a shit niether did the crew. This was cool as night trains I have been on are pretty regimented usually!
As soon as I closed my eyes we seemed to arrive at our destination, Lao Cai. We all staggered off the train around dawn and haggeled a mini bus up to Sapa town, 35Km up the side of a bunch of mountians.
